Every normal man must be tempted, at times, to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats. –H.L. Mencken
The best quote from this article:
“Every day, they are learning how brilliant [Snowden] was,” said a former U.S. official with knowledge of the case. “This is why you don’t hire brilliant people for jobs like this. You hire smart people. Brilliant people get you in trouble.”
Juxtapose this attitude with the private sector.
Companies want to hire brilliant people to help them succeed and be more profitable.
The government wants to avoid “brilliant people” because they question things and don’t accept the state’s lies and propaganda.
BTW, the “jobs like this” the “official” is referring to is the unlimited and illegal domestic surveillance of its own citizens by the US government.
